Ms. Lana
Founder / School Director
Originally from the US, Lana has background in education, and worked as a clinical therapist for abused children, battered women, and adults and children with mental disabilities and drug addiction. A love of children and learning led to the creation of a school that embraces learning, diversity and a positive approach to education. “I may not change the world, but I hope to make a positive impact.” Come visit and see what we can offer your child and family.
Mr. Petr
Founder / Technical Director
Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Petr’s background in engineering is why our school building and playground has grown and developed into a welcoming and inviting environment where children have fun learning, feel safe, and create lasting friendships. Every year positive changes occur with Petr’s help and creativity.
Ms. Marion
Assistant Director
Originally from France, Marion is our Assistant Director. With nearly 20 years of leadership and pastoral experience in the Czech Republic, she brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to our school community. Marion is deeply familiar with the international school environment in Prague and plays a key role as a contributor to the development of our future secondary school. Her commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere ensures that every member of our school feels valued and empowered to thrive.
Mr. Karl
Academic Director /Key Stage 2 Lead
Originally from the UK, Karl has a combined honours degree in History and English Literature, as well as a post graduate teaching certificate. Karl has been an important part of our school since 2012. His approach and dedication to teaching has given him a reputation reflected by the outstanding results students achieve. His love of writing and history leads to a wonderful mix of factual and creative expression. As academic director, he ensures our curriculum stays up to date and meets the necessary learning targets, as well as ensuring our school has a child-centered, critical thinking approach to learning.
Ms. Brandi
Key Stage 1 / Early Years Coordinator
Originally from the US, Brandi is our Early Years Coordinator. She has a degree in Elementary Education along with an endorsement for reading instruction. After teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade in our school, Brandi became the Early Years Coordinator where she uses her creative and fun teaching approach to support the teachers to maintain a vibrant and thriving school. She ensures quality educational programs take place in a safe, positive, and healthy learning environment because Brandi’s philosophy is that every child can achieve when they are in the right space.
Ms. Trisha
School Development Coordinator
Hailing from the US, Trisha moved to Prague in 2005 as an already-successful high school English teacher and Speech & Debate Coach. Since then she’s worked for government school programmes and international schools in six additional countries ranging from the United Arab Emirates to northern Thailand. With a Master’s in Education and a PGCE in Educational Leadership & Management, Trisha has joined us to lead on developing our next phase of growth into a secondary school, focusing on systems management and policy creation. Her passions are building successful school communities and events, as well as witnessing the little ‘aha!’ moments on children’s faces when new concepts and ideas are realised.
Ms. Paulina
School Psychologist
Originally from Slovakia, Paulina is our School Psychologist. She holds a Master’s in Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education, giving her a strong foundation for supporting the well-being of our students. Paulina is dedicated to helping children navigate their emotional and social development, providing a safe space for them to grow and thrive. Her compassionate approach and expertise make her an invaluable resource for our school community.
Ms. Vilma
Year 1 Teacher
Originally from Finland, Vilma recently graduated from Helsinki University with a Master’s in Education and is thrilled to begin her teaching career with us. She brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a passion for fostering curiosity and creativity in young learners. Her warm and nurturing approach ensures that every child in her classroom feels supported and inspired as they take their first steps in their educational journey.
Ms. Charlotte
Art Teacher/Year 1 Assistant
Originally from the UK., Charlotte has a degree in fine art and a post graduate teaching qualification. Her art lessons are fun and engaging for students, where they can explore a wide range of art media, from ceramics to print making, from painting to drawing. Charlotte’s philosophy is that every child can be creative and express themselves, and their artistry matters.
Ms. Carolina
Year 2 Teacher
A native of Brazil, Carolina is our 1st Grade Teacher. Having recently moved to Prague with her husband, Carolina brings her enthusiasm and expertise to our classroom community. She is passionate about creating a warm and engaging learning environment where her students feel encouraged to explore, grow, and succeed. Carolina’s nurturing approach and dedication to early education ensure that every child in her care builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Mr. Dennis
Gym Teacher / Year Assistant
Born in the Netherlands, Dennis studied sports science and movement in Amsterdam. He used his teaching degree working in China for four years as the physical education teacher. He joined our school in 2020 as the lead sports teacher for the elementary school and then became our Brown Bear teacher, where he gives children a great introduction to school. Dennis believes a good education is fundamental for a better future, and puts these beliefs to good use with our youngest learners.
Ms. Zayda
Year 3 Teacher
Originally from Ecuador, Zayda comes to us with a degree in Early Childhood Development. Zayda combines her deep understanding of young learners with her passion for education to create a dynamic and supportive classroom environment. Her approach is rooted in fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in every child. Zayda’s dedication ensures that her students are not only academically prepared but also socially and emotionally nurtured as they grow and thrive.
Ms. Ratchanee
Year 4 Teacher
Originally from Thailand, Ratchanee has a Master’s degree in special education. She has taught in elementary and high schools in Thailand, USA, and Czech Republic. Ratchanee joined our school in 2008 and quickly became an integral member of our elementary school team. Ratchanee teaches upper elementary grades where her structured approach is much appreciated. She believes in teaching children to respect each other and most importantly themselves.
Ms. Colleen
Year 5 Teacher
Originally from the U.S., Colleen has a Bachelor’s degree in French and added to that with an elementary qualification specializing in exceptional student education. Colleen creates an inclusive classroom with student-led activities. She believes in helping students to become independent and that every day is a new opportunity for students to be successful.
Mr. Steve
Year 6 Teacher
Originally from the US, Steve holds a Master’s in Fine Arts in Film & Television and a Bachelor’s in English and Creative Writing which support his teaching certificate. With nearly 20 years of experience in American schools in the Southwest, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and a vibrant energy to the classroom. Passionate about creativity and drama, he inspires his students to think critically, express themselves boldly, and explore their unique talents. Steve’s dynamic teaching style ensures that learning is both meaningful and memorable for his students.
Ms. Jitrenka
Czech Teacher
Originally from the Czech Republic, Jitrenka has a degree in elementary school education. She has taught in elementary schools around the Czech Republic before joining our school in 2015. Jitrenka teaches Czech for natives and Czech as a second language. Her hardwork and dedication helps our Czech students prepare for the Czech state exams. She has also published Czech textbooks for international students. Jitrenka believes in a methodological approach to teaching Czech where children have fun and learn the foundations at the same time.
Ms. Tereza
Czech Teacher
Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Tereza studied lower primary education at Masaryk University, Brno. She has experience teaching bilingual children here, in the Czech Republic, and abroad in London and Madrid. Tereza joined our school in 2022 teaching Czech and Czech as a Foreign Language. She believes in tailoring learning to the individual needs of the child.
Ms. Deniz
Music Teacher & Classroom Assistant
Originally from Turkey, Deniz has a master’s degree in music education and education sciences from Charles University. Her music classes are dynamic and encouraging, providing students with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of musical expressions, from playing instruments to composing, and from singing to rhythmic exploration. Deniz aims to create a harmonious and safe space where every voice can be heard and valued.
